Good Low Calorie Recipes

If you are on a diet, then you have to be looking for some good low calorie recipes. I’m always trying to find new things I can cook. I have no problem cooking but if I have to do it every day I get bored and want something new I can do. If you don’t like to cook but need something you can make that’s easy and healthy then I might be able to help you too.  These recipes are delicious, healthy and low in calories. How can you go wrong? Try them and see what you think.

Spinach Salad w/ Nuts
Can add olive oil. Make sure the nuts are unsalted.

Asparagus & Edamame Salad With Mint
Boil asparagus for 2 to 3 minutes, then drain and rinse. Place with 1 cup of shelled edamame (buy frozen and cook according to directions) and add a handful of chopped mint, then poor with 3 cups of olive oil and season with pepper, then serve

Spinach Salad w/ Shrimp
Spinach salad with shrimp (Or fish). Add any vegetables you like.

Breakfast Smoothie
Blend half banana, 50g of crushed pineapple, 50g of mango, 1 diced peach and a cup of skim milk. Ready to serve.

Popcorn with Cinnamon Or Cayenne Pepper
Air-Popped Corn with Cinnamon/Nutmeg/Cayenne pepper

Greek Quinoa Salad
Cook quinoa, slice cucumbers and low fat feta, then mix and top with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, season with pepper, then serve

Omelette w/ Toast
With any veggies, any cheese, any unprocessed meats and sprouted grain toast on the side.

Spaghetti Squash
Cut Spaghetti squash in half lengthwise, remove seeds and place face down in a cooking dish with water filling the bottom of the dish. Cook at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes, until the outer shell is tender. Remove from oven, let cool 15 minutes, then take a fork and scrape the flesh (should look like spaghetti) Add feta cheese to taste.

Papaya-Avocado Salad
Toss 1/4 papaya, 1/4 avocado, 1/4 cup of diced jicama, 1/2 tbsp walnuts and light 1/2 tbsp raspberry vinaigrette in a medium bowl. Serve.

Red Meat and Steamed Veggies

Curried Sweet Mashed Potatoes
Cook peeled and chopped sweet potatoes (in boiling water for 15 minutes or until tender) Cook chopped onion and curry powder in separate skillet, then mash potatoes, curry powder and onions together, and add fat free plain yogurt, add pepper to taste, then serve.

Black Bean, Corn and Goat Cheese Wrap
Heat canned black beans and corn, mash together with goat cheese and spread on whole wheat tortilla shell. Use low fat yogurt with any herb mixed in for dipping.
